TRIBUTES have been paid to Iain Morrison, a Western Isles councillor who died on July 30.
The 60-year- old Lewis councillor was elected to Comhairle nan Eilean Siar in 1999 and many of his fellow members attended his funeral on Tuesday.
Mr Morrison was best known for his fundraising efforts and was a member of numerous community groups including the Barvas war memorial committee and Westside football club.
Norman A MacDonald, convenor of the comhairle, said: ‘Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time. Iain was a man who cared greatly for these islands and particularly for the community which he represented.’
