Rescheduled canal event goes ahead
THE BEAUTY of the Outdoor Capital of the UK will be celebrated with an event on the Caledonian canal next weekend.
Originally arranged as the opening of the Wild Lochaber festival in May, gale force winds postponed the Go Wild on the Canal event, disappointing the crowds planning to take part in the cruise and races.
Not to be put off, organisers have rearranged the fun night for next Friday (August 14) and are hoping the sun will shine on Banavie basin for the cruise to Gairlochy and back. Commentary will be provided on board on the wildlife and landscape on the route before returning to Banavie for the rowing and raft races.
