Fiona aims high as she raises £4,220 for Yazidi appeal
AN ARDCHATTAN woman and 15 of her friends embarked on a heart-stopping 500-metre climb last Friday to raise money for the persecuted Yazidi refugees in the Middle East, writes David McPhee.
Fiona Bennett and friends climbed the Via Ferrata, a mountain route equipped with fixed points, at Vertical Descents in Kinlochleven.
Mother of two Fiona, a former psychiatric nurse, said: ‘It was an incredible experience and the staff, Ben and Mikey, were excellent.’ The climb raised £4,220. Anyone who would like to help or find out more, should visit ‘ www.gofundme.com’ and search ‘Yazidi Appeal’.
