Lifeboat tows a stricken in­flat­able

OBAN Lifeboat was called out just be­fore noon on Satur­day af­ter be­ing asked by Stornoway coast­guard to as­sist a rigid in­flat­able boat (RIB) with five peo­ple on board that had bro­ken down at the south­ern ap­proaches to the Sound of Ker­rera.

The stricken ves­sel had been taken un­der tow by a lo­cal creel boat when the res­cue crew ar­rived on scene at 12.07pm.

The lifeboat then took over and took the RIB back to its launch site in the Sound of Ker­rera. The lifeboat was made ready for ser­vice at 11.58 pm.
