Turning circle too small and buses can’t use it
PARENTS and children from Cantalina Avenue in Oban want to catch a bus home to their ‘hillside houses’, but a turning circle is made to the wrong standard and doesn’t allowing vehicles to turn around.
Lillias Grant, of Glengallon, asked councillors to get the matter sorted out.
She said: ‘Our new housing area is as high as you can get in Oban. But there are no buses as they cannot turn around at the top of the road. The way along the top road was much easier for people to get along with buggies and shopping, but that has now been blocked off as well.’
Councillor Roddy McCuish said in explanation: ‘The turning circle was required as part of planning. The turning circle has been built in hard core and it needs to be in Tarmac. Leave that one with me and I will speak to the contractors.’
