Islay and Jura
A CHARITY grants scheme covering Islay and Jura will promote its next round of funding at the Islay show today (Thursday).
The ‘On Your Marks’ scheme offers between £250 and £2,000 for projects which increase active participation, improve wellbeing, help people build connections and promote inclusion.
To be eligible for funding, groups must be constituted with charitable status.
On Your Marks is the latest part of the ‘Islay and Jura Fourteen’ funding scheme.
It was put in place after Islay and Jura was selected last year as one of 14 communities to benefit from £ 3.5million of grants from the charity, Spirit, established by the Big Lottery Fund as part of the Commonwealth Games.
The grants support a broad range of activity with a focus on grassroots sport and physical activity, arts and culture, youth development and volunteering. The deadline for completed applications is August 31. For more information, visit the Fourteen stand at the Islay show, or visit: www.foundationscotland.org.uk/programmes/islay-jura-fourteen
