This weekend, Glasgow Green will once again stage the annual World Pipe Band Championships. Starting on Friday, all the best pipe bands in the world will do battle in the most prestigious competition of the year.
It brings an end to the Piping Live festival which has been going on all week in Glasgow. Every year the festival transforms the city – and this year is no different. Fringe events include Festival Club Friday with Lorne MacDougall, Patrick Molard and Yves Berthou in the National Piping Centre; The After Worlds Shindig on Saturday night in The Art School with Flook and Fred Morrison; and a concert on Sunday from the Tannahill Weavers – celebrating 40 years of the band.
