A SKYE business was picked from more than 200 entries to win a national accolade.

The Isle of Skye Sea Salt Company won the soup, preserves and accompaniments category at the Scottish food and drink excellence awards recently.

The prize was announced by broadcaster, Kaye Adams at a ceremony in Edinburgh’s National Museum of Scotland with a record-breaking 239 entries.

Dave Thompson, MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, said: ‘ This victory is particularly impressive when we consider the vast array of skill and passions which make up the diverse and successful food and drink sector in Scotland.’
