Lochaber runners come out on top in Two Inns race
THREE Lochaber athletic club runners came out on top in a race against experienced runners from all over Scotland.
Andrew Barrington was Lochaber’s first member to cross the finish line of the Two Inns Scottish championship and was 10th overall in the competition on Saturday.
Jon Gay crossed in 12th place making him the second local to finish and Stuart Crutchfield finished 26th overall making him the third local.
Lochaber members were met with competition from Glasgow, Fife and Argyll and experienced good conditions in Glencoe.
A Lochaber athletic club coach said: ‘ Well done to all who took part in the Two Inns race. A big thanks to all organisers and helpers, Glencoe and Oban mountain rescue teams and a big thank you to Glencoe visitor centre for use of the car park.’
On the same day, some other members of the club took part in the Craig Dubh hill race 2015 when Amanda Blackhall was commended for crossing the finishing line first in the veteran over 40 female category and second female overall. Steven Burns, 17, finished second in the 800m race.
