Oban movie-go­ers in for cap­i­tal treat

OBAN Phoenix cin­ema is tak­ing a leaf out of the Ed­in­burgh In­ter­na­tional Film Fes­ti­val (EIFF) this week, by show­ing the movies that are mak­ing the head­lines in the cap­i­tal city.

Films such as ‘The Leg­end of Bar­ney Thompson’, the di­rec­to­rial de­but of Scot­tish film star Robert Carlisle, ‘Amy, Love and Mercy’, ‘The Overnight’ and ‘Di­ary of a Teenage Girl’ are part of in­no­va­tive pack­age be­tween EIFF and the Phoenix cin­ema.

The cin­ema is also host­ing a road trip movie with a dif­fer­ence as it fea­tures Ben­der­loch’s world cham­pion piper, An­gus MacColl, in his first cin­e­matic role in ‘Pipes and Sticks’ - a jour­ney across Route 66 in Amer­ica on Tues­day, Au­gust 25.
