Màiri’s return to the Highlands for Blas
ONE OF Gaelic’s most accomplished singers, Màiri MacInnes, will return to the Highland stage next month after a break of more than a decade.
The South Uist vocalist is set to perform in Roy Bridge on Friday, September 4, as part of the opening weekend of the Blas festival, along with Fèis Lochabair Ceilidh Trail.
Ms MacInnes released her long-awaited album, Gràs, earlier this year, more than 10 years on from her last solo album, Orosay.
After the Lochaber performance the Màiri MacInnes band will head west to appear in Plockton the following evening as part of the eightday festival in venues across the Highlands and Argyll.
