Màiri’s re­turn to the High­lands for Blas

ONE OF Gaelic’s most ac­com­plished singers, Màiri MacInnes, will re­turn to the High­land stage next month af­ter a break of more than a decade.

The South Uist vo­cal­ist is set to per­form in Roy Bridge on Fri­day, Septem­ber 4, as part of the open­ing week­end of the Blas fes­ti­val, along with Fèis Lochabair Ceilidh Trail.

Ms MacInnes re­leased her long-awaited al­bum, Gràs, ear­lier this year, more than 10 years on from her last solo al­bum, Orosay.

Af­ter the Lochaber per­for­mance the Màiri MacInnes band will head west to ap­pear in Plock­ton the fol­low­ing evening as part of the eight­day fes­ti­val in venues across the High­lands and Ar­gyll.
