THE MUSIC, wildlife, culture and food of south west Lochaber will be celebrated next month, with the return of the Ardnamurchan At Home festival.

The four- day event, from September 23, features entertainment varying from comedy, ceilidhs and locally-sourced food and drink.

School pupils on the peninsula are also getting in on the act, as the doors of Ardgour, Strontian and Acharacle primaries will be open to show off the work of the children.

Susan MacDonald, of organisers, Ardnamurchan tourist association, said: ‘The festival is a showcase for everything we love about the area.

‘ We wanted to remind locals of all the great stuff that’s on their doorstep, while letting visitors to the area see what it means to be ‘at home’ in Ardnamurchan.

Festival events will be held all over the peninsula, from Ardgour in the east to Kilchoan in the west.

Ms MacDonald added: ‘ We want to let people see the diversity of the area.

‘By hosting the events in a variety of venues such as schools, cafes, hotels, the art gallery and the new distillery, as well as the great outdoors, we think we’re doing just that.’
