Oban trio saddle up for charity

The Oban Times - - Community News -

THREE novice cyclists from Oban will ride more than 100 miles in two gruelling days to raise money for charity, starting on September 10.

The trio, Sophie Handley, Mairi Kennedy and Sandie Duffy, who all work at estate agents, Bell Ingram in the town, have never set foot in a gym before and have only just bought their bikes.

They will be raising money for three charities close to their hearts; MS Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Argyll An- imal Aid. Sophie said: ‘This is definitely going to be a huge challenge for us, but we are determined to succeed for our chosen charities. MS Society is particularly significant for me as my father is currently living with MS and epilepsy. This is my way of giving something back. It’s going to be painful, emotional, and exhilarating - all wrapped up in lycra.’
