Top dogs strut their stuff at ca­nine show

CA­NINES came from all over Bri­tain to strut their stuff at a Lochaber show at the week­end.

An as­ton­ish­ing 280 dogs en­tered Lochaber and Dis­trict Ca­nine So­ci­ety’s (LDCS) an­nual open show at The Ne­vis Cen­tre, Fort Wil­liam, on Sun­day.

Own­ers brought their dogs from as far as Belfast and Cum­bria to take part in the pop­u­lar show. The cat­e­gories were judged by six pan­el­lists from LDCS. Re­sults: best in show, Mrs Cowie’s Saluki, from Aberdeen­shire; re­serve best in show and best puppy in show, Mrs Main’s Shet­land sheep­dog, from Cul­lo­den; re­serve best puppy, Mrs Younie’s Golden Re­triever, from El­gin; best vet­eran, Vick­yAnn Tomp­kins’ Saluki, who re­cently moved from Fort Wil­liam to Northum­ber­land; best mi­nor puppy, Lynore Ma­cal­is­ter’s New­found­land from Tor­lundy, Fort Wil­liam.
