Top dogs strut their stuff at canine show
CANINES came from all over Britain to strut their stuff at a Lochaber show at the weekend.
An astonishing 280 dogs entered Lochaber and District Canine Society’s (LDCS) annual open show at The Nevis Centre, Fort William, on Sunday.
Owners brought their dogs from as far as Belfast and Cumbria to take part in the popular show. The categories were judged by six panellists from LDCS. Results: best in show, Mrs Cowie’s Saluki, from Aberdeenshire; reserve best in show and best puppy in show, Mrs Main’s Shetland sheepdog, from Culloden; reserve best puppy, Mrs Younie’s Golden Retriever, from Elgin; best veteran, VickyAnn Tompkins’ Saluki, who recently moved from Fort William to Northumberland; best minor puppy, Lynore Macalister’s Newfoundland from Torlundy, Fort William.
