Numbers add up for Lochaber school maths challenge pupils
MATHS whizzes from Lochaber high school have won awards following a UK-wide competition.
The clever first and second year pupils competed against more than 250,000 pupils from across Britain in the UK Mathematics Trust’s junior challenge.
Alan Hamilton, S2, stood out from the crowd and received a trophy from Lochaber housing association for having the highest score in the school.
In first year, Martyn Denny and Kyle Dignan won silver, with bronze awards going to Fergus Berardelli, Cam Clark and Robbie Murray.
Of the second years, silver awards were won by Alan Hamilton, Scott Lawrie, Daniel Menzies and Erin Nicolson.
Bronze winners were Connor Anderson, John Cummings, Gregor Linfield, Amber MacInnes, Orla McDougall, Rebecca MacDougall, Aidan Kane, Beth Robertson, Lachie Shaw and Jodie Standen.
