Walking and Outdoor Festival

The Oban Times - - Leisure -

ESTABLISHED over ten years ago, Cowalfest is a ten- day walking and outdoor event which gives an opportunity to explore this scenic area, enjoy some of its history, heritage and wildlife - including pine martens and red squirrels – and with plenty of photographic opportunities.

Amidst hills, lochs, forestry and glens, events cater for all levels of ability, from a guided walk through the beautiful Benmore Gardens, to an ascent of Ben Ruadh (664m) or daily trekking the Cowal Way in six sections.

There are mountain biking and running activities, as well as canoeing. Cultural events include touring country houses, a book festival, traditional music, a ceilidh and more.

Visit www.cowalfest.org to view the whole programme or book an event.

Accommodation is available locally. Links can be made through the website or by enquiring at dunoon@ visitscotland. com.
