Spotlight pulls out all the stops for The Rockfield Centre

The Oban Times - - News -

A STUNNING performance from the Spotlight Musical Theatre Group was enthusiastically received at Oban’s Phoenix Cinema last Saturday with The Rockfield Review – a special concert to raise funds for The Rockfield Centre.

A first act of performances from the Broadway shows and silver screen was followed by a re-worked concert of Spotlight’s recent sell- out show - Cole Porter’s Anything Goes. And the same magic that had made the first performance so popular was again re-kindled with a spectacular show of music, song and dance.

Narrator Stephen Glen-Lee told the story of the last voyage of the SS American in fine style and excellent performances from everyone in Spotlight had the audience spell-bound with their professional performance.

In thanking Spotlight,Gordon McNab, chairman of Oban Communities Trust, said: ‘It is really appropriate that less than a year ago, in this very cinema, a public meeting was held to gauge community support for buying the Rockfield Centre and we are here now to celebrate not only getting the keys but fund-raising to realise this exciting project. Spotlight Theatre has been a supporter from the start and we want to thank it for both its financial help and also for putting on this fantastic performance tonight to raise funds.’

Spotlight gave a superb performance to raise cash for Rockfield.
