TIREE school has been work­ing with pupils to de­velop the Golden Time pro­gramme.

The school hopes to of­fer a range of ac­tiv­i­ties for pupils in­clud­ing gala day craft, con­struc­tion, draw­ing, writ­ing, darts and small play - castle, train track, pi­rate ship, road mat and sim­i­lar.

A news­let­ter from the school ex­plained: ‘The num­ber of ac­tiv­i­ties we are able to pro­vide is con­strained by our staff num­bers so we are grate­ful to Mr Con­nor who has of­fered to run the darts.

‘ We are also look­ing into ways to pro­vide a sport/ ac­tive Golden Time ac­tiv­ity.

‘Pupils are able to earn 10 min­utes of Golden Time each day by fol­low­ing the five ‘ busy bee’ rules: be kind, be re­spect­ful, be care­ful, be hon­est and be hard­work­ing.

DONNY Camp­bell gave a talk to se­nior pupils at­tend­ing the youth café.

He spoke about Tiree com­mu­nity coun­cil and its work to help im­prove op­por­tu­ni­ties for ev­ery­one on the is­land.

There was a good turnout of pupils and the talk will hope­fully have inspired some of the young peo­ple to think about putting them­selves for­ward as a mem­ber of the com­mu­nity coun­cil.
