AF­TER a wet few months, rain­fall in Ari­saig was be­low av­er­age in Au­gust at just un­der five inches.

This brings rain for the year to date to 42 and a half inches, still much higher than usual.

The av­er­age daily tem­per­a­ture ranged from 11.4°C to 18.7°C, both av­er­age for this time of year.

The cold­est night in the vil­lage was 8°C, also av­er­age, but the hottest day saw the tem­per­a­ture soar to 30°C on Au­gust 23, the warmest Au­gust day this cen­tury.
