Jailed for break­ing cur­few

A FORT Wil­liam trou­ble­maker with an ‘ap­palling record’ has been jailed for two months for break­ing his cur­few.

Luke Mob­sby of Fas­sifern Road, in Fort Wil­liam, is cur­rently serv­ing a sen­tence in Grampian prison for another mat­ter, but ap­peared in Fort Wil­liam sher­iff court last Wed­nes­day (Septem­ber 2) where he ad­mited break­ing his cur­few on April 28 this year.

Sher­iff Brian Cameron heard the 21-year- old was vis­ited at home by a fe­male friend and he de­cided to go to his lo­cal shop to buy them food at 9.30pm, de­spite his cur­few re­strict­ing him to his flat be­tween 8pm and 8am.

Sher­iff Cameron sen­tenced Mob­sby to two months in prison, to be served con­cur­rently along­side his present sen­tence, which has an ear­li­est re­lease date of De­cem­ber this year.

He said: ‘You have an ap­palling record.’
