On board for boat training
A RESCUE training event exposing firefighters to potentially life-threatening risks has been held in Lochaber.
The pre-arranged exercise at Corpach Boat Builders in Fort William involved a ‘casualty’ trapped in a confined space on board a CalMac vessel last Tuesday (September 8).
Lochaber employees of Scottish Fire and Rescue joined forces with the Scottish Ambulance Service, CalMac and managers from the boat builders to understand potential risks.
Pat McElhinney, Lochaber group manager, said: ‘It’s really important our fire crews understand and plan for potential incidents in the future.
‘I would like to thank everyone who helped run the event and everyone who attended.’
