Robert returns to US
SCOTTISH amateur golf champion, Robert MacIntyre, from Oban, is now back at college in America, and is the number- one rated player in the Intercollegiate rankings.
Robert, the first ever left-handed player to win the Scottish amateur title, took part in the Sam Hall Intercollegiate as part of the McNeese Cowboys golf team last week.
The team won the Mississipi event by 15 strokes, setting a school record, three-round score of 829, which is an impressive 23 under- par.
Robert was placed first on the individual leaderboard at the Sam Hall tournament with a school record, three-round score of 199, finishing 14 under- par, shooting rounds of 66, 68 and 65 to win the title by three shots.
The Cowboys golf team has found itself ranked second in the USA Intercollegiate rankings in the first ranking of the season. Robert is ranked number one in the individual rankings with a 66.41 rating.
