POLICE in Lochaber are appealing for informatio­n about the following crimes in the area.

At around 11pm on Monday, September 14, an uninvited male was found in a house in Glencoe, near the visitor centre. After the man left, it was discovered a wallet was missing. Police are keen to speak to a man described as around 60 years old, five feet nine inches tall, medium build with grey hair and facial hair. He was wearing a hat, dark fleece jumper, dark trousers and glasses.

On Sunday, September 19, at 8.30pm, the back window of an unoccupied house at Tigh Phuirt, Glencoe, was broken in an apparent attempt to gain entry.

A black and blue mountain bike was stolen from the garden of a house in Caol.

Some time between Monday, September 7, and Wednesday, September 16, a spare wheel and mountain bracket were stolen from a kayak trailer parked near the Isles of Glencoe Hotel in Ballachuli­sh.

Numerous items are handed into Fort William police station every week, including phones, wallets and cameras. Police remind the public if they have lost anything it is worth checking if it has been handed in.
