CalMac finalises ferry winter care plans
CALMAC has finalised its dry dock arrangements for this year, with vessels moved into different routes to cover the repair work.
All 31 vessels in the operator’s fleet are required under Maritime and Coastguard Agency regulations to undertake a period of maintenance every 12 months.
CalMac’s operations director, Drew Collier, said: ‘Arranging dry dock for our fleet is a complex logistical exercise that we try and undertake with minimal potential disruption to our normal services.
‘ We appreciate our passengers’ patience and understanding for the short period of time that they are not served by their normal vessel.’
The Isle of Arran replaces the MV Lord of the Isles until November 11, on the Oban to Coll and Tiree route, while on the popular Oban to Craignure route, the Isle of Arran will replace The Isle of Mull ferry from December 2 to 17.
DRY DOCK: The Isle of Arran will cover for the Isle of Mull ferry in December.
