Hal­lowe’en theme for fish bomb party

MORE than 70 fish were dec­o­rated by peo­ple rang­ing in age from two to 72, with the theme of Day of The Dead in­flu­enc­ing many of the fish’s dec­o­ra­tion.

The fish are now in the un­der-fives play­park, as an aware­ness raiser for the on­go­ing fundrais­ing for the last phase of the play­park project.

The fundrais­ing tar­get is about £160,000, with about £25,000 hav­ing al­ready been raised. The play­park de­sign will re­flect the older kid’s play­park, with ageap­pro­pri­ate equip­ment and will also in­clude an out­door class­room.

The com­mu­nity is be­ing en­cour­aged to text the mes­sage ‘£ 3 OBAN15’ to 70070 to do­nate us­ing Just Giv­ing on their mobile phone or to un­der­take their own fundrais­ing ef­fort on a larger scale.

The older kids’ play­park will be of­fi­cially opened on Sun­day Novem­ber 29 with a free party in At­lantis Com­mu­nity Leisure from 11am to 3.30pm to tie in with the last day of the Oban Win­ter Fes­ti­val. More in­for­ma­tion will be pro­vided on www.face­book.com/oban­com­mu­ni­ty­play­park.
