Three year ban for drink driver
A DRUNK driver who crashed into a car carrying two young children has been banned for three years.
Mary MacDonald of Fort William was six and a half times over the drink drive limit when she collided with a car stopped at traffic lights in Spean Bridge on the afternoon of July 27.
At Fort William sheriff court on Tuesday, the 42-year- old, who gave her address as care of a guest house in the town, was sentenced to 180 hours of unpaid work in the community as well as the three-year driving ban.
MacDonald pleaded guilty to driving with 145 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath and driving without due care and attention at a previous hearing.
Sheriff David Young heard nobody was seriously hurt in the incident, which occurred after MacDonald attempted to drive home from her friend’s house after an afternoon of drinking.
