Pais­ley pot­ter Geo Adams wins lat­est tour event

CON­GRAT­U­LA­TIONS to the Pais­ley pot­ter Geo Adam on win­ning the lat­est Re­gional tour event and tak­ing back the num­ber one spot to se­cure his 2016 squad place.

Geo had been the only re­gion five player since to au­to­mat­i­cally qual­ify for the Men’s Scot­land team un­til Brian Ed­wards of Ben­der­loch man­aged to take it last year. Geo, who is be­ing spon­sored by Ke­babish is de­lighted to be back at the top of an ever-grow­ing ar­ray of tal­ent.

John Telfer, Brian Ed­wards, John Kin­vig, Drew Thom­son, An­drew Chap­man, Chris An­ton, An­drew Dun­can and Lochgilp­head player Mark El­lis have earned them­selves the chance to com­pete in the 2016 Scot­land squad tri­als to be held in Ed­in­burgh on Sun­day, where they will be fight­ing to join Geo.

Barry Clark has be­come the first win­ner of the Oban Sin­gles pre­mier league with Chris An­ton win­ning the first di­vi­sion.

Ju­nior Sec­tion – With the ju­nior play­ers only half way through their league sea­son, 11-year- old Sean Sned­don is sit­ting in pole po­si­tion with 13-year- old Bran­don Petrie chas­ing his tail.

Out­reach Sec­tion – Hav­ing just com­peted in their first in­ter­na­tional event, five play­ers from Oban re­turned home with sil­ver­ware.

In the team sec­tion Sandy Gal­braith and Rab Mar­shall joined Dundee player Michael Hitchen to scoop first place while Gary Gem­mell, Paul McKen­zie and the only fe­male player Kerry Maclean came run­ner up. In the sin­gles com­pe­ti­tion Gary Gem­mell was run­ner up af­ter los­ing only one match.
