Remarkable amnesia on austerity agenda

The Oban Times - - Letters -

Sir, Alan Reid and the Lib Dems were soundly rejected by the Scottish electorate last May.

However, I must assume from the proliferation of his contributions to the Oban Times letters page that he will soon seek re- election, this time to the Holyrood Parliament.

Mr Reid displays remarkable amnesia with regards to his complicity in underpinning the austerity agenda emanating from Westminster, which has resulted in extreme cuts to the budget received by the Scottish Government, and the consequential cuts to local government funding. The SNP group in Kilmory is not currently large enough to decide budget outcomes, and is therefore confined to opposing and mitigating the grossly unfair proposals and cuts being advanced by the current Tory/ Lib Dem/ Independent administration, under the guise of ‘public consultation’.

To pretend otherwise would be dishonest ot Macdonald, Crannag A

Mhinisteir, Oban.
