ADULT film audiences on Coll can look forward to an evening of whisky and cinema next month with a Whisky Galore evening on December 12 at community hub, An Cridhe.

Billed as a double measure of classic comedy and marvellous malts, everyone aged over 18 years is welcome.

Winter games nights kicked off yesterday ( Wednesday) with a Scrabble night. Other games nights, including a poker night in December and whist in January, are planned with dates to be confirmed.

The regular volunteer garden work parties, with the young project volunteers on the island, who offer their time to help in the community as part of their selection process, are urging more people to get involved.

The first event is on Thursday November 26 when there will be daffodil planting in remembrance of John Waters, key holder of the Old Hall.

Organisers have said it is an opportunity to spend time with enthusiastic young people and help them find out more about living on the Isle of Coll.

There are also general maintenance tasks such as caring for the young trees, tackling the brambles and planting donations of cuttings etc.

Work is carried out from 9am to 12pm with a break around 10.30am. People are welcome to attend at any time. For any information about events at An Cridhe, telephone 01879 230 000 or email info@an
