Dal­mally pupil names new grit­ter

DAL­MALLY Pri­mary School pupil Anna Macfar­lane Bar­row won the chance to name a new BEAR Scot­land win­ter spreader through a com­pe­ti­tion run by Trans­port Scot­land this win­ter.

The win­ning name, The Ice De­stroyer, was picked by Trans­port Min­is­ter Derek Mackay as part of Trans­port Scot­land’s trunk road win­ter cam­paign launch for 2015/2016.

Newly-named ‘The Ice De­stroyer’ is one of 45 state- of-the-art mega-spread­ers, in­clud­ing 22 new ve­hi­cles, that will serve trunk roads in the north of Scot­land this win­ter. The school is one of seven from across the North of Scot­land that took part in a com­pe­ti­tion to name seven of BEAR Scot­land’s new state- of-the-art spread­ers that serve the trunk roads in their ar­eas.
