Scot­tish gov­ern­ment to blame for cuts

Sir, Res­i­dents are rightly an­gry at the de­struc­tive cuts to ser­vices be­ing pro­posed by Ar­gyll and Bute Coun­cil, but the blame should be di­rected to­wards those re­spon­si­ble.

It’s the Scot­tish Gov­ern­ment in Holy­rood which has starved all coun­cils in Scot­land of funds by re­fus­ing to al­low them to raise Coun­cil Tax. Isn’t it ironic that the SNP in Scot­land is meekly fol­low­ing the pol­icy of the Con­ser­va­tive Gov­ern­ment, which is squeez­ing coun­cils in Eng­land the same way. Ed­u­ca­tion ser­vices must be pro­tected

Sir, The par­ents of Rock­field Pri­mary School, Oban, would like to ex­press their grave con­cerns about the pro­posed cuts in ed­u­ca­tion which have been put out to pub­lic con­sul­ta­tion by Ar­gyll and Bute Coun­cil.
