SNP has squandered cash on wrong things

The Oban Times - - Letters -

Sir, Mrs Macdonald accuses me of amnesia and dishonesty (letter, November 12).

She is mistaken. The block grant paid by the UK Government to the Scottish Government is higher, even when taking inflation into account, than when the SNP came to power. The problem is the SNP has spent the money on the wrong things, including the Referendum and grandiose central belt projects. If I were the local MSP, I’d be demanding more money for Argyll and Bute. Mrs Macdonald appears to have forgotten the SNP won the last council election, but its administration disintegrated within a year. The reason there are so few SNP councillors is because more than half the SNP councillors elected in 2012 have left the SNP group.
