McPhee signs new deal with Sax­o­print-RTG

CON­NEL’S John McPhee is to ride with the Sax­o­print-RTG squad again in the 2016 Moto3 World Cham­pi­onship, the Rac­ing Steps Foun­da­tion an­nounced be­fore the re­cent Va­len­cia Grand Prix where the Scot fin­ished in sev­enth place

The foun­da­tion is set to sign a con­tract for McPhee to race with the soon-to-be Peu­geot Mo­tor­cy­cles fac­tory squad in the 250cc light­weight class.

The team, which cur­rently com­petes with Honda power, will switch to Mahin­dra Rac­ing- en­gi­neered bikes in 2016 un­der the new ar­range­ment with Peu­geot Mo­tor­cy­cles.

The 21-year- old Scot, who fin­ished 11th in the world Moto3 cham­pi­onship said: ‘ This year has been a tough one for me and Sax­o­print-RTG as a whole.

‘But look­ing for­wards to 2016, we have a fresh and ex­cit­ing start, with new man­age­ment and a new Peu­geot Mo­tor­cy­cles-backed bike which pro­vides us all with a ter­rific op­por­tu­nity to show what we are made of.

‘I'm really look­ing for­ward to work­ing closely with the Mahin­dra Rac­ing and Peu­geot Mo­tor­cy­cles peo­ple to de­velop the new bike.

‘Hope­fully my three years spent in the world cham­pi­onship and the ex­pe­ri­ence I've amassed over that time will prove to be of ben­e­fit.’
