AN INTERACTIVE assembly to mark Remembrance Day went down a storm at Kinlochleven High School.

Twenty-one pupils across three senior years took it upon themselves to plan the whole event, which included a video showing conflicts from the First World War until today, a mini museum and poppy-making workshop. Sixth-year pupil Tyna Reimerova painted a poppy onto a canvas and every pupil signed around it as a way to remember the day.

Rebecca Machin, head teacher at Kinlochleven High School, said: ‘I was very proud of all the children involved and I thought it was a wonderful idea to make an assembly which they would enjoy participating in as well as learning so much.’
