THE ROYAL Bri­tish Le­gion Scot­land, Eas­dale Branch, raised a to­tal of £1,942 for the poppy ap­peal in mem­ory of mil­i­tary per­son­nel who have died in war.

On Seil, Eas­dale and Lu­ing, £1,302 was raised, while the Kilmelford area to­tal was £640.

Branch sec­re­tary Jean Alexan­der said: ‘Our thanks go to all the pub­lic sup­port­ing this en­deav­our, which raised £70 more than last year. Also our thanks to all those who col­lected for us, door-to- door, in ter­ri­ble weather.

‘We also sup­ported two acts of re­mem­brance on Seil Is­land and Lu­ing, which, de­spite a very stormy day, were well-at­tended, and our thanks go to Rev­erend Ken­neth Ross for lead­ing both those ser­vices.’
