THE ROYAL British Legion Scotland, Easdale Branch, raised a total of £1,942 for the poppy appeal in memory of military personnel who have died in war.
On Seil, Easdale and Luing, £1,302 was raised, while the Kilmelford area total was £640.
Branch secretary Jean Alexander said: ‘Our thanks go to all the public supporting this endeavour, which raised £70 more than last year. Also our thanks to all those who collected for us, door-to- door, in terrible weather.
‘We also supported two acts of remembrance on Seil Island and Luing, which, despite a very stormy day, were well-attended, and our thanks go to Reverend Kenneth Ross for leading both those services.’
