Stephen burns up the field to win Drum­fada Chase

BLUE skies and sun­shine made bright but chilly con­di­tions for the Lochaber Ath­letic Club (LAC) Drum­fada Chase.

Seventy- one run­ners took part in the sec­ond of the win­ter league races on Sun­day but it was lo­cal Stephen Burns who took first place in 50 min­utes and two sec­onds.

Burns was more than 30 sec­onds ahead of sec­ond place Michael Bos­sard, also of LAC, who fin­ished in 50 min­utes and 33 sec­onds. It was vis­it­ing Craig Mat­tocks of Gala Har­ri­ers who fin­ished third in 51 min­utes and 30 sec­onds, fol­lowed by ju­nior Steven Burns in 51 min­utes and 54 sec­onds.

LAC’s Diane Baum was first lady home, fin­ish­ing 11th over­all

in 56 min­utes and 10 sec­onds.

The next race is the Ne­vis Range Loop this Sun­day Novem­ber 29 at 11am. Reg­is­tra­tion is at Ne­vis Range car park from 10am.
