Stephen burns up the field to win Drumfada Chase
BLUE skies and sunshine made bright but chilly conditions for the Lochaber Athletic Club (LAC) Drumfada Chase.
Seventy- one runners took part in the second of the winter league races on Sunday but it was local Stephen Burns who took first place in 50 minutes and two seconds.
Burns was more than 30 seconds ahead of second place Michael Bossard, also of LAC, who finished in 50 minutes and 33 seconds. It was visiting Craig Mattocks of Gala Harriers who finished third in 51 minutes and 30 seconds, followed by junior Steven Burns in 51 minutes and 54 seconds.
LAC’s Diane Baum was first lady home, finishing 11th overall
in 56 minutes and 10 seconds.
The next race is the Nevis Range Loop this Sunday November 29 at 11am. Registration is at Nevis Range car park from 10am.
