The Oban Times - - News -

WORK to revamp the tenement at 52 Soroba Road, Oban, resumed this week following a break over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

The 10-week contract, coordinated by Argyll Community Housing Association to a value of £133,000, has been awarded to Turner Facilities Management Limited.

The works will include putting a new roof on the building, re-rendering, wall insulation, external painting and new fascias, soffits, downpipes and guttering.

Alastair MacGregor, ACHA’s Chief Executive, said: ‘I am delighted that with the support of Argyll and Bute Council, property owners and our tenants, we have got on site to save this building to provide homes for the future.

‘ I hope it will, on completion, be as successful as the neighbouring tenement restoration across the road, which the organisation completed three years ago.

‘ The restoration of this building will see the completion of improvements to the third and final tenement at the heart of Soroba Road.’

Work has started to restore the tenement at 52 Soroba Road.
