Kinlochleven pupils mean business
KINLOCHLEVEN High School pupils have been named as one of just 10 groups across the country to qualify for a national competition.
The third-year students will travel to Edinburgh in February for the Coca- Cola Enterprises Real Business Challenge, picked from 850 participating schools.
To qualify, the youngsters designed a drink they thought would be popular in the business market, in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ themed competition.
One of the budding entrepreneurs, Connor MacKenzie, said: ‘My group and I have enjoyed every minute of it. We have worked so hard as a group and we are all excited about being in the final. We don’t know what to expect from the other nine schools but hopefully we can present to the best of our abilities and make our school proud.’
Kinlochleven head teacher, Rebecca Machin, called the news ‘a wonderful Christmas present’. She added: ‘I am already proud, very proud indeed, of our youngsters. They have done fabulously well and already are a huge credit to their school.’
