Po­lice carry out stop and searches

SHORTLY af­ter noon on Wed­nes­day Jan­uary 6, a 31-yearold man was stopped and searched by po­lice.

He was al­leged to have been found in pos­ses­sion of cannabis – a Class C drug – a re­port has been made to the Procu­ra­tor Fis­cal.

The same day, a 33-year- old man was stopped and searched in Dunol­lie un­der the mis­use of drugs act.

He was found to be in pos­ses­sion of cannabis and re­ported to the Procu­ra­tor Fis­cal.

Also that day, a 55-year- old man and a 53-year- old man were stopped and searched while they were in their car.

The men were al­legedly found to be in pos­ses­sion of a ‘large quan­tity’ of cannabis.

Both men were charged with in­tent to sup­ply drugs.

One of the men was from Dun­fermline and the other from Tiree.

Fi­nally, at 1.10pm on Jan­uary 6, a 41-year- old man was stopped and searched un­der the mis­use of drugs act in Dunol­lie.

Fol­low­ing en­quiries it is al­leged a large amount of drugs was found at the man’s premises. He was later charged with pos­ses­sion with in­tent to sup­ply. A re­port has been sent to the Procu­ra­tor Fis­cal.
