Police carry out stop and searches
SHORTLY after noon on Wednesday January 6, a 31-yearold man was stopped and searched by police.
He was alleged to have been found in possession of cannabis – a Class C drug – a report has been made to the Procurator Fiscal.
The same day, a 33-year- old man was stopped and searched in Dunollie under the misuse of drugs act.
He was found to be in possession of cannabis and reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Also that day, a 55-year- old man and a 53-year- old man were stopped and searched while they were in their car.
The men were allegedly found to be in possession of a ‘large quantity’ of cannabis.
Both men were charged with intent to supply drugs.
One of the men was from Dunfermline and the other from Tiree.
Finally, at 1.10pm on January 6, a 41-year- old man was stopped and searched under the misuse of drugs act in Dunollie.
Following enquiries it is alleged a large amount of drugs was found at the man’s premises. He was later charged with possession with intent to supply. A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
