His­toric do­mes­tic abuse, man fined

A MAN pre­vi­ously con­victed of do­mes­tic vi­o­lence found his past be­ing in­ves­ti­gated by po­lice, Oban Sher­iff Court heard last week.

Mem­bers of Scot­tish Po­lice’s Do­mes­tic Abuse Task Force in­ter­viewed pre­vi­ous part­ners of Ross Hig­gins, of 98 Ainslie Road, Cum­ber­nauld, and two fur­ther charges were brought against the 40-year- old.

He ad­mit­ted that be­tween De­cem­ber 25, 2001 and Jan­uary 4, 2002 he as­saulted a women by push­ing her on the body, and be­tween March 1, 2003 and De­cem­ber 7, 2007 he as­saulted an­other woman.

Both th­ese in­ci­dents hap­pened at ad­dresses in Oban.

His de­fence agent said that Hig­gins was now in a new re­la­tion­ship.

Sher­iff Ruth An­der­son fined him £250 for each of­fence.
