Historic domestic abuse, man fined
A MAN previously convicted of domestic violence found his past being investigated by police, Oban Sheriff Court heard last week.
Members of Scottish Police’s Domestic Abuse Task Force interviewed previous partners of Ross Higgins, of 98 Ainslie Road, Cumbernauld, and two further charges were brought against the 40-year- old.
He admitted that between December 25, 2001 and January 4, 2002 he assaulted a women by pushing her on the body, and between March 1, 2003 and December 7, 2007 he assaulted another woman.
Both these incidents happened at addresses in Oban.
His defence agent said that Higgins was now in a new relationship.
Sheriff Ruth Anderson fined him £250 for each offence.
