Day out for Kinlochleven footballers
THE BOYS’ football team from Kinlochleven enjoyed a football match at Ross County thanks to social enterprise group Kinlochlovin’, which supports young people in Kinlochleven.
Connor MacKenzie was one of the lucky footballers who spent the day at Victoria Park on January 17.
He said: ‘We got to Ross County’s stadium, which is a quite a high quality stadium, in plenty of time to find our seats before kick off at 12.15pm. It was a really exciting game with a man sent off, a penalty kick and five goals. Aberdeen won 3-2 in the end.
‘We then went on a tour of Ross County’s training facility, the Highland Football Academy. It was great to see how the players prepare for training and what they do on their training days.
‘After that we did some training and played five-a-side games ourselves. The day was a great success and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.’
The next trip to Ross County takes place on February 20 when the girls’ team will visit.
