CHARITABLE donations to hospitals, wards and departments within NHS Highland were slightly down on this time last year, according to the latest figures.

Total income for the health board’s endowment funds stood at £744,000 for 2014/ 2015, down around £23,000 from £767,000 raised the previous year.

Donations to NHS Highland go the Highland Health Board Endowment fund, a registered charity which holds the money in trust. It manages individual funds and donations can be made for a specific ward, a particular piece of equipment or amenities for patients.
