Highlands gears up for busy season

TOURISM businesses in the Highlands are gearing up for a busy season ahead.

There are events for visitors of every age and interest including Isle of Skye Half Marathon in June, a charity garden opening at Dunvegan Castle and Gardens on Skye on various dates until October, 10 Under the Ben in Fort William – a 10hour mountain bike endurance race, The Glencoe Skyline ultra marathon in September, and Highland games and shows, including Helmsdale Highland Games in August.

Scott Armstrong, VisitScotland regional partnerships director, said: ‘I like to try to get along to the many different and varied events that visitors can enjoy when visiting the Highlands through the summer months, as there is always something interesting to experience.’
