Grants are now avail­able for char­ity or­gan­i­sa­tions

COMMUNITY groups are be­ing en­cour­aged to ap­ply for the sec­ond round of fund­ing from Ar­gyll and Bute Coun­cil’s third sec­tor grants for 2016/17.

A to­tal of £ 5,000 is avail­able and the clos­ing date for ap­pli­ca­tions is Mon­day June 13. A de­ci­sion will be made at the area com­mit­tee in Au­gust.

The third sec­tor grants pro­gramme is aimed at sup­port­ing com­mu­ni­ties and vul­ner­a­ble peo­ple, and help­ing to kick start new projects and events.

Coun­cil­lor Robin Cur­rie said: ‘The coun­cil is par­tic­u­larly keen to en­cour­age new groups with fresh ideas. Ad­vice and sup­port on fund­ing is avail­able from the coun­cil’s community de­vel­op­ment and so­cial en­ter­prise teams. I would en­cour­age peo­ple to make the most of this fund­ing op­por­tu­nity and get their ap­pli­ca­tion forms re­turned as soon as pos­si­ble.’
