THE SEC­OND round of fund­ing for the Car­raig Gheal Community Wind Farm Ben­e­fit Fund is open un­til July 31 for new ap­pli­ca­tions.

The fund is di­vided be­tween two schemes – a mi­cro grant scheme with awards of grants up to £250 avail­able to in­di­vid­u­als, con­sti­tuted and non- con­sti­tuted groups and the main grant scheme with awards of up to £7,000 avail­able to con­sti­tuted groups only.

Twenty- one projects were awarded grants in the last round of fund­ing, in­clud­ing grants of £250 for projects, such as the Dalavich’s OAP Christ­mas lunch and the Kil­more Community ceilidh dance to main grants of up to £7,000 to en­able so­lar pan­els to be fit­ted on to the Kilmelford and Kil­nin­ver Vil­lage Hall and main­te­nance works to Bridge of Orchy Vil­lage Hall.

The fund is open to the ar­eas bor­der­ing the wind farm, in­clud­ing Avich and Kilchre­nan, Taynuilt, Glenorchy and In­nishail, Kil­nin­ver and Kilmelford and Kil­more community coun­cils.

Bridge of Orchy Vil­lage Hall is to be re­paired thanks to a grant from the Car­raig Gheal Community Wind Farm Ben­e­fit Fund.
