THE SECOND round of funding for the Carraig Gheal Community Wind Farm Benefit Fund is open until July 31 for new applicatio­ns.

The fund is divided between two schemes – a micro grant scheme with awards of grants up to £250 available to individual­s, constitute­d and non- constitute­d groups and the main grant scheme with awards of up to £7,000 available to constitute­d groups only.

Twenty- one projects were awarded grants in the last round of funding, including grants of £250 for projects, such as the Dalavich’s OAP Christmas lunch and the Kilmore Community ceilidh dance to main grants of up to £7,000 to enable solar panels to be fitted on to the Kilmelford and Kilninver Village Hall and maintenanc­e works to Bridge of Orchy Village Hall.

The fund is open to the areas bordering the wind farm, including Avich and Kilchrenan, Taynuilt, Glenorchy and Innishail, Kilninver and Kilmelford and Kilmore community councils.
