The Oban Times - - Leisure -

SECONDARY school pupils in Oban attended a road show in the Corran Halls that focused on raising awareness of the careers available in the digital sector.

The pupils received an insight in to the industry by getting hands on with new technology and they were also provided with information about how to get in to the profession.

More than 300 pupils from across Argyll and Bute are set to take part in the road show, Discovering Digital World, which is hosted in partnership by Skills Development Scotland and Young Scot.

Claire Gillespie, of Skills Development Scotland, said: ‘ We are really pleased to be bringing Discovering Digital World to Argyll and Bute after our recent visits to Glasgow and Edinburgh.

‘It has been fantastic to see teachers and parents getting involved and learning about the opportunities available in Scotland, so they can provide the best possible guidance to young people considering their future career path.

‘We have answered a whole range of questions about everything from coding to gender equality.’
