Concert raises £800 for refugees
CHILDREN of Taynuilt gave a concert in Muckairn Church on April 22, raising £805 for Syrian refugee children.
The youngsters ranged in age from primary to senior secondary pupils and sang and played various instruments, both solo and in groups. They were warmly praised for their talents and enthusiasm.
The concert was organised by the World Mission Group and helpers.
It was compered by Rhona Camerson and the director of music was Jo Landon, assisted by Moira Carswell and Jane McCracken.
The performers were Bridget Cox (bagpipes), Eliza Cox and Matthew Houston (reading), Megan Day and Mo Inall (clarinet and flute), Ashleigh Sim and Megan Day (piano), Ashling Duncan, Sophie Houston, Christie Cameron and Rhona McCracken (clarsach), Neil McCracken (saxophone and piano), Gemma Carswell (piano), Rowan Chisholm (guitar), Taynuilt Primary After-School Choir, Claire Bryden (talk), Cantina Band (Eliza Cox, Katie Houston, Oran Charlton, Finn Charlton, Sophie Carswell, Neil McCracken, Sorley Inall and Matthew Houston), Sophie Carswell (piano), Emily Reid (song), Christie Cameron, Katie Houston and Rhona McCracken (fiddle, flute and clarsach), Emma Baird (songs) and Breagha Charlton (clarsach).
