Con­cert raises £800 for refugees

CHIL­DREN of Taynuilt gave a con­cert in Muck­airn Church on April 22, rais­ing £805 for Syr­ian refugee chil­dren.

The young­sters ranged in age from pri­mary to se­nior sec­ondary pupils and sang and played var­i­ous in­stru­ments, both solo and in groups. They were warmly praised for their tal­ents and en­thu­si­asm.

The con­cert was or­gan­ised by the World Mis­sion Group and helpers.

It was com­pered by Rhona Camer­son and the di­rec­tor of mu­sic was Jo Lan­don, as­sisted by Moira Car­swell and Jane McCracken.

The per­form­ers were Brid­get Cox (bag­pipes), El­iza Cox and Matthew Houston (read­ing), Me­gan Day and Mo Inall (clar­inet and flute), Ashleigh Sim and Me­gan Day (pi­ano), Ash­ling Dun­can, Sophie Houston, Christie Cameron and Rhona McCracken (clarsach), Neil McCracken (sax­o­phone and pi­ano), Gemma Car­swell (pi­ano), Rowan Chisholm (gui­tar), Taynuilt Pri­mary Af­ter-School Choir, Claire Bry­den (talk), Cantina Band (El­iza Cox, Katie Houston, Oran Charl­ton, Finn Charl­ton, Sophie Car­swell, Neil McCracken, Sor­ley Inall and Matthew Houston), Sophie Car­swell (pi­ano), Emily Reid (song), Christie Cameron, Katie Houston and Rhona McCracken (fid­dle, flute and clarsach), Emma Baird (songs) and Breagha Charl­ton (clarsach).
