MSP urges action to improve the A82

The Oban Times - - News -

AN MSP has called for action to improve the A82.

Scottish Liberal Democrat transport spokesperson Mike Rumbles urged the new transport minister to prioritise investment in the route.

In his first act as transport spokesperson, Mr Rumbles tabled a number of parliamentary questions pressing the Scottish Government to step up plans to upgrade the A82.

Mr Rumbles said: ‘It is not surprising that the omission of any A82 upgrade plans from the SNP manifesto has cast doubt on the priority the Scottish Government gives this vital artery connecting the West Highlands and islands with the central belt.

‘Given the appointment of Humza Yousaf as the transport minister, I hope he takes this opportunity to ensure the Scottish Government commits fully to much-needed upgrades on the A82, particularly between Onich and Fort William.’
