A DALMALLY author is about to have her latest children’s book published.

Christine Hawe will see her latest output, The Dog that Peed on Mars, hit the shelves on Thursday June 30.

Christine started writing this and her other children’s stories when she was looking after her grandchildren. To entertain them, she would write a chapter, then they had to write another few pages themselves.

According to Christine: ‘Scientists all over the world had dreamed of the journey to Mars for years. Now everything was perfect apart from one small detail...

‘In the middle of the Arizona desert, a glitch has been found in a space probe to Mars. Someone has forgotten to provide enough room for a human and they quickly need to find a creature small enough to fit in the space vehicle.

‘Jamie, with his posh English accent and quirky ideas, may have the solution: a dog. But not just any dog – the wirehaired terrier Pepsi, trained (in her spare time) by Jamie’s mother back in England.

‘ Will Jamie’s outlandish scheme work? Can Pepsi be trained in time? And, once he gets to Mars, what will he find? All will be revealed in this imaginative and light-hearted tale for children.’
