GRAEME MacKech­nie se­cured his first sil­ver­ware of the sea­son with vic­tory in the Cowan Cup at Dal­mally Golf Club on Sun­day. En­ter­ing the sec­ond round four shots be­hind overnight leader Martin O’Keefe, MacKech­nie re­turned a highly cred­itable net 62 to add to his first round 65, al­low­ing him to over­turn the deficit and record a three-shot win.

Ladies re­sults (net scores): Braigh Quaich and medal - 1 Caro­line Man­son 68; 2 Sheila Tol­lan 69; 3 Lily McKay 70. Club cham­pi­onship round two and medal - 1 Lily McKay 63; 2 Ann Munro 68; 3 Colleen Brown 69.

The club’s pop­u­lar gents opens are be­ing run again in July with a swap in dates this year. First up is the open sin­gles on Sun­day July 3 fol­lowed on Sun­day July 24 by the three-man open Sta­ble­ford.

THE TEAM of Neil Ar­mour, Dun­can For­grieve and Wil­lie McA­dam won the three-man Sta­ble­ford at Glen­cruit­ten on Satur­day with a score of 109 points. Graeme Dar­ling, Sean Dun­staffnage and Cameron Milne were sec­ond with 104 points. Alan Jamieson, David MacLean and Steven McCuish were third with 99 points.

On Sun­day the McVi­tie Price took place with Neil Ar­mour and Bunt Me­nassa win­ning with a score of 85 – 21 = 64. Kirsty MacKen­zie and Mal­colm MacKil­lop were sec­ond with a score of 87 – 19 =68.

On Satur­day the cham­pi­onship first round and Ge­orge Smith first round takes place and a Sta­ble­ford on Tues­day.
